What’s up, Fontaine’s 5 family! It’s your guy, Pickem Petey, and we’ve got a great lineup of college football plays this week. Strap in and let’s get to the picks that’ll have you riding that cash train straight to the bank.
Miami -4.5 (-122) | 1.22 units
Last week, Miami escaped with a hard-fought win against Cal, proving once again that they are a team that can gut out victories when it matters. They’re ranked number one in total offense this year and have been no slouch on defense, sitting at 14th. I know you’re hearing all those so-called sharps out there telling you to grab Louisville and the points because Miami’s looked shaky, but don’t listen to ‘em. We’ve been riding with Miami all season, and they haven’t let us down. We’re going back to the well one more time with the U. Let’s cash in!
Nebraska/Indiana Under 49.5 (-110) | 1.1 units
We’ve got two solid defenses in this matchup, and let’s be honest, Nebraska’s offense has been as stale as week-old bread. Indiana has impressed, but that’s mostly because they haven’t faced much competition. This week, Indiana’s QB, Kurtis Rourke, will face real pressure for the first time this season, and I don’t expect him to light up the scoreboard. Plus, Nebraska’s Dylan Raiola looked shaky last week. This has all the makings of a low-scoring game, so we’re rolling with the under.
Texas -4.5 (-118) | 2.36 units
Let me tell y’all something real quick—Texas is winning the national championship this year. No, seriously, they are a complete team on offense, defense, and special teams. Quinn Ewers is coming off injury, but the kid has been in the fire and is more than ready. And guess what? Rumor has it that Ugga, Georgia’s mascot, won’t be at this game. That’s worth at least 2 points on its own! On top of that, Carson Beck struggled under the bright lights in the Alabama game. Texas will be ready, so take those points and run with ‘em.
Michigan -3.5 (-115) | 1.15 units
Oh, people think they’re being smart by backing Illinois in this one, but what they forget is that Michigan knows how to play Big 10 football. Even if this year’s squad isn’t the same beast as last year, the Wolverines still know how to suffocate teams. Illinois just isn’t on the same level. Michigan’s identity as a top-tier program is rock solid, no matter who’s under center. Trust in Michigan to handle their business and cover the spread.
